PLI Calculator

Estimate Postal Life Insurance premium, accrued bonus, total premiums and maturity amount for the PLI Endowment Assurance (Santosh) plan.

PLI Calculation Formula

Policy Term = Maturity Age − Entry Age Indicative Annual Rate per 1,000: Rate = (1000 / Term × 0.85) + [4 + (Age − 19) × 0.6] × 0.5 Annual Premium = (Sum Assured / 1000) × Rate Periodic Premium = Annual Premium / Payment Frequency Illustrative Bonus = (Sum Assured / 1000) × Bonus Rate × Term Estimated Maturity = Sum Assured + Illustrative Bonus Note: The premium-rate equation is an indicative estimator, not India Post's official pricing engine.

India Post lists Santosh as an Endowment Assurance plan with maturity at predetermined ages and payment of the sum assured with accrued bonus, subject to policy terms. Its online quote system asks for date of birth, product and sum assured to generate an official quote. citeturn0search18turn1search4

Example Calculation

Age 30 · 5,00,000 · Maturity at 60

Policy term = 60 − 30 = 30 years.

Using the illustrative PLI bonus rate of 58 per 1,000 per year: Bonus = 500 × 58 × 30 = 8,70,000.

Illustrative maturity = 5,00,000 + 8,70,000 = 13,70,000

58 per 1,000 is a historical published PLI Endowment Assurance bonus rate. Bonus declarations can change; verify the applicable rate for the policy period. citeturn1search12
